Does Joshua Wong Scare Malaysia?

Joshua Wong, who played a key role in the pro-democracy ‘Umbrella’ Movement in Hong Kong, was denied entry into Malaysia this week. It is said that the Malaysian government was nervous about the effect Mr. Wong might have on the country’s young people, who have been taking to the streets to protest this year.

At just eighteen years, Joshua Wong was nominated as Fortune Magazine’s fifty greatest leaders of 2015.

“This incident proves that not only the Chinese government has a blacklist on Hong Kong activists, but other half-democracies or authoritarian countries also do.”- Joshua Wong
