Feeling Mean?…Not Your Fault

Nowadays, whenever we get a headache, stomach bug or feel fluish, we pop a pill. Usually, we have a Tylenol or Panadol (depending on where you’re from) both of which contain acetaminophen.
Acetaminophen is in over 600 medicines and is the most common drug ingredient according to the Consumer Healthcare Products Association. Recently, researchers at Ohio State University found that those who consumed acetaminophen were less susceptible to pain in contrast to those who didn’t. Additionally, those who took the drug faced less suffering when learning about the misfortune of others. Thus, researchers came to the conclusion that the drug which many of us have consumed more than once can actually make us less empathetic!
