Each year the college process for a high school student gets more complicated. With teenagers fiercely competing for a spot in some of the top universities, the application process has gotten even more competitive and confusing. Recently Michelle Obama launched a website called BetterMakeRoom.org to tackle this issue. With support from over 20 different organisations such as Vine and CollegeHumour, this website provides children aged 14-17 the information they need in order to apply for college. The website offers help with the SAT and ACT, college applications, federal aid forms and much more. In addition to this, the website also has an open forum for students to communicate amongst themselves during the application process. The aim of the website is to encourage high school students to take control of their education and future by enrolling in higher studies.
This site was created to help President Barack Obama with his ‘North Star’ program. The goal of the ‘North Star’ program is that by 2020, the United States would have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.
