After countless trials to find a better treatment to cure cancer, the University of Manchester Cancer Team has recently discovered a drug which will ake chemotherapy more effective on cancer patients. Research suggests that the frequent and most common drugs used on cancer patients are not that effective and eventually tumours become resistant to the drugs. As a result, the team in Manchester have looked into a class of drugs called taxanes. These drugs, under test conditions, trigger cancer cells to self destruct. Though this research is still new and has not been tested on people yet, this discovery is encouraging for cancer patients around the world.
